Letter #50: 😱 Transfers Pt. 9 + RIP Sis G. Pt. 2 😭

Transfer news went absolutely crazy!!! EVERYONE was 99% positive that Sister Pope and I would be staying together in our area, but we got the shock of our lives when we were told she was transferred, and I'm getting a new missionary and we're getting an English ward in addition to the Spanish branch.🫠 So sad to be split from her because we had some awesome plans for the next 7 weeks, but hopefully my new comp is just as fun!!🤞

This week was a solid last week of the transfer! We had some good lessons, our friends are progressing, and there were some fun ward things.

First up is Jeziel! We had some lessons with him, and he literally has so many questions, but he is interested and wants to learn more. We were talking to the elders about him and, as a joke, told the departing elder to go put him on date for us. He walked away, came back 2 minutes later, and now Jeziel is on date for July 12th!!🌊

Then we have Tony who is so elect. We showed up to our lesson in the park the other day and he was sitting reading the Book of Mormon! He also brought a cooler of drinks for us and a towel to wipe the water off, bless his heart. 🫶 He's super interested and is getting work off early to come to all the ward events, so he's going to get baptized this transfer for sure. 💪

The ward had a Father's Day activity this Saturday, and Tony and Jeziel both came! They also went to soccer night on Friday, and then they came to the baptism on Sunday. The baptism was actually way cool because it was a double baptism for these two men, Felix and Favio, who were found 2.5 weeks ago. They both progressed so quickly, got baptized on Sunday, and are going to the temple today!!🥳

I've recently been having a little bit of a crisis over how quickly the mission goes by. With Sister Glauser being fake and going home this week, we were talking a lot about the mission and how valuable the time we have here is. Looking back, the beginning of my mission feels like it was maybe 3 months ago, but it's almost been a year which is mind-blowing. There's a scripture, Alma 34:32, that we always share when we teach our purpose here on earth, and it says, "For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors." We really don't have much time here, either on the mission or in our lives, so it's important to make the most of the time we have and do all we can to prepare to meet God one day!!

That's all for this week, prayers that this transfer is as awesome as the last one! 🙏
