Highlights of the week:
☆ Got to go on a blitz to my first area!! Our windshield was getting fixed for like 3 hours, so Sisters Arce and Kamp came and picked us up and we got to go work there. Literally the promised land and they found like 3 people in an hour. 😀
☆ They had Cane's at orientation and it's the only thing that is actually motivating me to go to those anymore (other than the fact it's mandatory).
☆ Our apartment is clean!! I wish I'd taken before pictures, but take my word when I tell you the elders hadn't cleaned it in minimum 1 year. There's a list being made of what they owe us for that, because it is sparkling now. ✨️
☆ I got to translate Sister Nielsen's talk in stake conference, which was also the last talk she'll give here. 😢
Now here are the main parts of the week:
Wednesday morning, I had to go drop off Sister Glauser, my (literal) day 1, so that she could go home. 😭 Y'all are probably sick of hearing about her at this point, but she truly has had more impact on me than any other missionary here. Her faith and trust in the Lord never wavered, and even when she had to go home temporarily, she never quit on the Lord and kept doing all she could to serve Him. She has such a strong testimony and a love of the gospel that she wanted to share with everyone, and from my first day, she has shown me nothing but Christlike love. Even though it's lame that she ditched me, she served an amazing mission and showed me exactly what kind of missionary I want to be.
On top of her leaving, the Nielsens are also leaving Las Vegas tomorrow. 😭 In the MTC, the only devotional we were there for was all about how you aren't called to a mission; rather, you're called to your leaders. I now have the strongest testimony of that and know that they are the reason I was called to the Nevada Las Vegas West Mission. They have taught me so much, they've helped me through so much, and they are such examples to me of how I want to live my life after my mission. I love them so much and am so grateful for all they taught me. 🫶
The scripture for this week is Mosiah 7:32-33, which is Sister Glauser's favorite. It says, "And now, behold, the promise of the Lord is fulfilled, and ye are smitten and afflicted. But if ye will turn to the Lord with full purpose of heart, and put your trust in him, and serve him with all diligence of mind, if ye do this, he will, according to his own will and pleasure, deliver you out of bondage."🤍
Love you all!!
