⛽️ Letter 36: Fumes of Faith 🌱

Hey y'all! Another week down and it was a party time.

First things first, Jacobo's on date!!🥳 We stopped by his house and talked to his mom, and she said she wanted him to be baptized, which we'd been hoping for. We told her we'd been praying about a date, March 29th, and she literally just pulled out her phone and put it on her calendar and told Jacobo that he was getting baptized that day. FINALLY! We're so excited for him and for his family because it's going to be such a blessing for all of them. 🙌

We started teaching a new friend named Isabela who might be the most elect person in all of Las Vegas. She's dating the bishop's son which is so awesome for us because she's just surrounded by amazing influences all the time. She came to stake conference on Sunday (literally unheard of, no friends come to stake conference), and in our lesson afterward she asked about all the things that were mentioned and was super interested.

Stake conference was actually so good, and the Spirit was so strong. The stake president, President Arredondo (literal goat🐐), gave a super good message about the importance of having our homes be a sanctuary from the world. In every missionary apartment in Las Vegas, you'll find Doctrine and Covenants 88:119 on the fridge, which says, "Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing; and establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God." This should be everyone’s goal! Our houses need to be a place of refuge, especially when there's so much going on around us.

We also had zone conference this week and it was amazing as always. My favorite message was from Sister Nielsen who talked about faith. She said something that really stuck out which was that "The fumes of our faith don't last forever." Essentially, faith will run out if we don't exercise it, use it, and replace it regularly. We can't have one faith-building experience and expect it to carry us for the rest of our lives. We need to constantly be exercising our faith and strengthening it every day!

This week was another good one with a lot of really good lessons learned and messages shared! Love you all and hope you're doing well. Make your homes a sanctuary and keep exercising your faith!
