Hello everybody! This week was honestly probably one of the best ones on my mission for so many reasons.
Our friend Veronica, who was a referral from the English elders, is on date for baptism!!! 🌊 We've been teaching her for about 2 weeks and she's super awesome but is a little chatty and it's sometimes hard to get a word in. On Wednesday we showed up and asked her if she'd read from the Book of Mormon, and she said yes. Then she flips open to Alma 40 and was like, "This is where I stopped." In 5 days, she read literally half the Book of Mormon. 🤯 Then we had a lesson with her on Saturday, pulled out a baptismal calendar, and she literally put herself on date and is so excited about it. She came to church and loved it and said it was so special and so unique but that she could feel the Spirit so strongly.
Next big item: SISTER GLAUSER IS BACK!!!😭 We started exchanges Friday night and Sister Jeppsen asked me to go grab her stuff with her. I went with her, we walked past a car, and then Sister Glauser jumped out from where she was hiding. I literally just screamed and started crying, and then she came with me on the exchange on Saturday and we got to spend the day together. Honestly it was a testimony builder of the power of prayer and fasting because I wasn't sure she'd be able to come back out, but now look at where we are. I'm now praying that President puts us together again for her last transfer. 🙏
The exchange on Saturday was SO FUN. We didn't really plan for cars (or an extra surprise person), so we ended up having 5 of us in one apartment, using 1 car. We pretty much all just spent the day together instead of splitting up the way we originally planned, but it was way fun. We got to go to a stake breakfast (amazing), do a food drive service project, put Veronica on date 🥳, and go to a baptism! It was an awesome day.
Something I thought about a lot this week was missions (shocking I know, let me explain.) There's a boy in the ward where I'm serving who's going to the MTC today, so these past few days he had his farewell and his setting apart. While going to all these things, it's been interesting to reflect back on the beginning of my mission. I remember the night before I went to the MTC that I just regretted every decision that had led me to that point, and I REALLY did not want to go anymore.
Now, as I look at my mission and everything I've learned and experienced in such a short time, I wouldn't give it up for anything. Sure, it's been hard, there have been days where I've wished I was back home, but I wouldn't get rid of any of those experiences because they've all taught me something that I couldn't have learned any other way. "Know thou, my son[s and daughters], that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good," (D&C 122:7). The Lord tells us that everything is for our good! Heavenly Father has a perfect plan for us and all we need to do is have faith and keep moving forward, even when it might seem terrifying and like the worst idea we've ever had.
That's all for this week, but thank you for all the prayers and emails and thoughts, they help so much. Love you all!!
