Hola everyone!
Another week gone by! I'm almost done with the MTC which is crazy because I got here a week ago. I'm kinda sad I'm only
here for two weeks because it's really fun and I'm having a great time. I still love my district and companion and am so sad to be
leaving them next week. Rip District 17-H.
This week we were able to go to the temple twice as a district which was super cool. Last Saturday we went to the Timpanogos temple and did baptisms
and initiatories. Baptisms were super cool because the Elders baptized us in Spanish which I've never done, and it was really neat
because it really does show that this is a worldwide church and is for everyone. That was the highlight of my week for sure.
Tuesday we
were supposed to go to the Payson Temple for an endowment session, but we realized about halfway through the bus ride that we were heading the
opposite direction and going to Timpanogos. Turns out the MTC didn't schedule a bus for Payson that day, but the Timpanogos temple
workers were so nice and just let us in anyway so that was a miracle.
On Tuesday we had a devotional from Elder and Sister Schmutz (or the Smooshes as Hna. Campi Jarab just called them) which was also
so good. The devotional was about how we can build our testimonies and about the importance and calling of mission leaders. I feel more
like I'm going to Vegas for a reason now and am excited to meet all of the people there!!
Fun stuff of this week: I got to see Stacy (my Peru leader) and eat lunch with her twice!!!. It was so fun to see her and talk with someone from my non-mission life, but then I cried when she left because she was like my last connection to home and reminds me of my mom lol. But it was so worth it, even though it now feels 10 times more real that I'm leaving in like 4 days.
I discovered a new talent this week, thanks to the trio of Elders, which is freestyle rapping. They'll give a word that we have to use in our spontaneous rap and Elder Silva will do his awful record scratch sound and then Elders Torres and Rodriguez will drop the beat. So if any of you need a gospel-oriented freestyle rap, feel free to hit me up cause I'm actually cracked at it.
Also shoutout to my home ward that was at the MTC for a tour and didn't find me -- can't believe you guys.
That's all for this week, I hope you're all doing well!
Love, Hermana Pursglove
