Letter #2: Goodbye Sandy, Helloooo Provo!!!

Hey everyone!!! I'm officially at the Provo MTC!!

This week has actually been the most insane of my life and it feels like it's been ten years. I finished up home MTC on Monday and was not too sad about that. Tuesday was a day off to spend with our families so the Pursgloves absolutely partied! What I learned that day is don't get Cafe Rio when you're nervous because it will not stay down and you'll end up getting to taste it a second time. Wednesday was an experience for sure!

I unfortunately had to say goodbye to my family for 18 months so that was slightly heartbreaking. However, the MTC has kept us so busy since then that it's hard to get too homesick, I just can't think about them too much or else I get sad.

Wednesday was kind of a blur but I got to meet my amazing district and companion! Everyone is so nice and funny and like 75% of them are native Spanish speakers so I get to use my Spanish A LOT. Yesterday they just had a conversation about differences in the Spanish between countries and I just sit there smiling and nodding because a) they are talking so fast and b) I didn't know any of the obscure words they were saying. But that's okay! I'm learning a lot.

Elder Gomez and Hna. Campi Jarab taught me how to say "Slay" in Mexican and Argentinean (apparently they're different) so here's my language lesson of the week. In Argentina, you say "Mortal" and in Mexico you say "Brutal" (putting the emphasis on the A for both of those.) I think they got sick of me saying slay, but now I just walk around saying mortal y brutal so they're probably sick of that too.

Hna. Campi Jarab had to go to the dentist and get some immunizations yesterday which was the highlight of this week because the dentist and his wife were so sweet, but more importantly, we got stickers and suckers!!! So exciting.

Today for our P-day our district had a group game of voleibol which my team absolutely rocked. We won the first round, but then the other team was embarrassed so they recruited more people and ended up winning. But that's okay, everyone needs a win sometimes.

Honestly it's been really fun so far! Each day feels like it will never end but I love all the people I'm with and I'm learning so much that it makes up for it. It's been great so far, better than home MTC, and I can actually eat the food so it's pretty much got everything I could ask for!! Hope you're all doing well!

Con amor,

Hermana Pursglove
