Letter #12: Noche de Hispanidad 🥳

Olá everybody, (my Portuguese is clearly amazing, send me Portuguese-speaking, President)!

This week was a rollercoaster for sure, but so many fun times.

1. Friday as a whole might've been the best day on my mission. We got to do a service project that morning where we just made spiderwebs out of cheesecloth and stapled them to posts in this amusement park place. Honestly still not sure what it was, but a few of us split into teams to see whose spiderwebs could look the best, and not to brag, but Elder Leal and I won hands down. I wish I had a picture, but just know that we were the obvious winners.

We had interviews with our mission leaders after the service and they pretty much just consisted of Sister Nielsen and me peeing our pants from laughing. She's actually so hilarious and it was a dandy time. President Nielsen is amazing and gave me some good advice for our friends, so it was all just a win overall.

!!HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY!!: 🥳Noche de Hispanidad!🥳 The ward had a party celebrating all the countries that ward members are from, and it was SO FUN. We took some of our friends, and the ward had dances and songs and food, and it was so fun. Genuinely was the funnest thing on my mission so far. It was kind of a tragic day, though, because it felt like a normal day because we didn't really go out much or talk to many people, and I honestly felt like I was just at home again. So, it was so much fun but also a little homesickness-inducing.

2. Biggest miracle of the week! We've been praying to find a single mom in an orange shirt (just for fun/see how much faith we REALLY have) and it has not been going super well. Last night though, we went to a media referral's house and this cute lady opened up and she's wearing an orange shirt! Didn't think much of it and we go in and she tells us about her life and she's soooo amazing. Then her DAUGHTER comes out and she tells us that she lives here alone with her daughter. It clicked in my brain that this was literally our answer to our prayers, and it was just so amazing because she's so elect! It was such a tender mercy and was crazy that we were able to actually find someone.

3. Zone Conference! We had Zone Conference on Thursday, and it was incredible. The main theme of the conference was that the Savior can bring us peace. I really love this scripture in Alma 34:41 that says, "But that ye have patience, and bear with those afflictions, with a firm hope that ye shall one day rest from all your afflictions." I know that this is so true and when we have faith in the Savior that we can find the relief we need, and He can provide us with the support we need.

Also, this is for Peru people, but do y'all remember the yellow juice that they had at the Heliconia every day? It's passionfruit, lol. A member made it for us yesterday and it was so good and I was literally back at the Heliconia. Rip.

That's all for this week, it was such an amazing week full of so many blessings and miracles. Hope you're all doing well, and thanks for reaching out. Love you!
