Hola everybody!!
This was an amazing week because... JUANA GOT BAPTIZED!!!
The original plan was to walk with her to and from her baptism which was about a 75 minute walk each way, so we weren't exactly thrilled with that, but we were willing to do whatever to get her baptized. We had a lesson with her on Friday, the day before her baptism, and a member offered to drive her. She said yes, but Sis. Glauser and I were a little concerned because she's always ended up backing out of things when she has to get in a car. She asked us to go with her in the car, so Saturday morning we woke up and were a little scared she might cancel, but we got to the church where we were meeting, and she was already in the member's car!! That was such a miracle because we really didn't know what we were going to do if she didn't show up or got too scared.
We made it to the baptism, and she was so excited. When she got in the font, she started bending her knees and asked the person baptizing her if she could go under yet. She was baptized, and then she bore her testimony which made everyone teary. She talked about how she knew this was God's will for her and she could feel so much peace and joy. THEN she told everyone that her mom had died that morning, but she was okay because now she knew her mom could be there at her baptism. It was so amazing, and everyone could feel the Spirit sooo strongly.
She got confirmed yesterday and came to the Spanish ward for the first time too!! She's been going to an English ward because it's close to her house, but she doesn't speak English, so a member has had to translate for her. After the Spanish ward yesterday, she told us that she was just so happy, and she knew God was proud of her. Pretty much, this was just Juana's week, and everything worked out so perfectly. Everything that happened was such a miracle and we’re all just so happy that it worked out as well as it did.
Because Sister Glauser is an STL, she has to go on exchanges and blitzes a lot (you trade companions for a day), so I got to spend a day with Sister Santillan which was so fun. She's waiting for her Visa so she can go to Peru (I'm not jealous at all) but we actually had such a fun time, and a member gave us the strongest smelling candle ever. Which then melted in our car. So, our car has smelled like Pumpkin Caramel Swirl for about 5 days now!! Someone send help it's actually such a headache. But in like two weeks, Sister Glauser has 4 exchanges, so Sister Santillan and I get to be together for pretty much the whole week which will be so fun!
A super cool experience this week was a lesson we had with a friend who just showed up at church last week. We went to her house for a lesson this week, and she was telling us about her life and everything that's been going on. I normally have a lineup of scriptures that I use for certain situations, so I opened it up and was just sitting there. Then I started thinking about it and I thought to do Jacob 3:1-2 instead. I shared the scripture, and then we left. While we were walking back to our car, Sister Glauser asked me why I used that scripture, and I was like, "I don't know, I just thought about it." She then told me that she had considered interrupting before I started because she felt like we should share that scripture, but then she decided that whatever I shared would be good. But we both had the thought to use that scripture, and it was such a cool experience! So, everyone feel free to go read that!
That's all for the week, but it was such an amazing week! So many blessings and miracles, and we were really able to see the Lord's hand in everything we did and in all the miracles we had. Love you all and hope you all have a good week!!!
