Letter #8: Bug Soup

Yo yo everybody!

This week was so awesome. They always call the last week or two of a transfer "miracle week" because that's when the miracles really start popping up and everything starts to fall into place. This week was full of them, and everything is starting to work.

First, our friend Jezania is getting baptized this Saturday! We met with her on Friday, and it just so happened that her LDS friend was there and was telling her how amazing the baptism is going to be and how excited she was for her. That really got Jezania pumped, and then she came to church on Sunday so she's all set! I'm actually so excited for the baptism and it's going to be so good because the Elders had a baptism for their friend this past Saturday, and while we were there, the Stake President told us that he wants their friend to baptize Jezania this week. We talked to the Elders about it, they asked their friend, and he said yes!!! So Jezania is getting baptized by a convert of a week which will actually be so cool. Please pray it actually happens because her schedule is the worst and we're so worried she's going to cancel, lol.

Biggest miracle of the week: we had friends at church! For the past 3 weeks, no friends have actually come to our ward. They'll go to other wards or just not go at all, and it's been a real struggle. This week though, we went to our friend Mailin's house on Sunday morning, and she was walking out the door to wash her clothes for church! She came and ended up bringing her son and husband. That was such a miracle because everyone's work schedules here are actually impossible and no one can actually come to church, but that day, they just happened to have the day off and it was such a blessing.

Yesterday we were out teaching and contacting, and we stopped by somebody's house for fun. We were talking to her, and then her grandson came out and sat down for a while. We were kind of wrapping things up and then he told us that he wants to come to church on Sunday. We were a little caught off guard, but he told us that he's interested in learning more and asked us if we could find someone to give him a ride to church on Sunday. So, we'll see how that goes, but that was also super amazing!

Fun memories of this week:

1. The absolute highlight of the week was the music video that Sister Glauser and I made to the remix from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I can't include a video in the email which is actually so unfortunate for all of you because it might have been the greatest piece of media ever created. However, you can watch it by clicking here and scrolling down to the photos.  We had props and everything, I was Reuben, she was the angel, and I think we could probably be choreographers after the dance we came up with. Truly amazing.

2. We had dinner with this sweet lady from our ward and she made us a tomato lentil soup. It was pretty good and then she had us clean her cabinet. We pulled out the lentil container which didn't have a lid on it, and I think it may have actually been half lentils and half bugs in the container. So, we just had some extra protein in our soup that night! Honestly, it was pretty good so I'm not too mad. I just can't think about it for too long.

3. I cut 6 inches off of Sister Glauser's hair and she had a crisis, but you literally can't even tell and, not to brag, but I kinda killed it. Pics below.

I think that's all for today! The scripture that we used the most this week was Alma 30:44 so y'all should go read that one. It's super good and makes people snap to attention, but it really kicked one of our friends into action this week. Let me know what you think of it!
