Letter #21: 😇 Cuban Angel 😇

Hey everyone!

This was such a good week—I literally had such a party time every day, even though there honestly wasn't anything very big that happened.

My new companion, Sister Peraza, is so fun and I love her so much. We pretty much are just laughing 24/7 and are the life of the party. She's the first sister missionary in the church from Cuba, so she's actually just a legend for that and is so, so cool and has such a strong testimony and is such an amazing teacher and I could go on and on. Basically, she's the bomb.

She told me my Spanish is good enough but that my Cuban needs work, so our language studies are her telling me the different words they use in Cuba instead of the Spanish words they use in literally every other country 🙃. Brain's kinda fried but I'm having a great time. Honestly, all the language study is paying off and I'm already getting better at my Cuban/Spanish. We only talk in Spanish one day, and only English the next since she wants to work on her English, too, so we're pretty much both going to be 100% native speakers of the opposite language by the end of this transfer.

We got to do the Giving Machine in Summerlin this week and when I say "got to do" I mean we got to stand next to it and hold signs—haha. Friday mornings in Summerlin Mall are, unfortunately, not the busiest place so we didn't have any business, but I had a great time. If y'all live close-ish to a Giving Machine, you should definitely go, it's such an amazing opportunity.

We met a new friend named Maria who's super awesome! She said she's met with missionaries before 3 separate times and she feels like the church is following her, so Sis. Peraza and I are hoping for a baptism this transfer for Maria! She only lets us do lessons during lunch so that she can feed us, and let's just say I'm not mad about that. This area is way different from my last one, and one of the things that's different is how much food we receive. It's actually insane. Our haul yesterday was cake, bread, soda, doughnuts, another cake, pizza, and squash. Obviously, a great diet plan so if y'all want some slightly stale desserts by the time it gets to you, just let us know cause we do not want it all.

Honestly, there wasn't anything really big that happened this week so this might be it for the email. Companion is heaven-sent, the area is super chill and good, and yeah! Miss you all and hope you're doing well!
